Packing Service Hampshire

Packing for a house move can be an overwhelming task, and your belongings can be easily broken if it’s done incorrectly.

Luckily, we know a few tricks on how to protect your belongings and pack properly, removing the stress and worry.

We are going to share them with you here. Take note that with with Hampshire Movers you’ll receive professional packing services.

How to pack properly ?

The first step is decluttering. Is there anything that you don’t need anymore? Lighten your load by gifting to friends, family or even donating to charity. Next, find out whether your contents insurance will cover damage and breakages that may occur. This won’t matter if you choose Hampshire Movers to do the job for you as we are experienced, professional, and fully insured.

Now you can calculate how many boxes and how much packing material you’ll need for moving house.

Get hold of these well in advance and be generous with what you think you’ll need.

Finally, it’s time to pack. Use small boxes for heavy items, medium-sized boxes for general household items, and large boxes for lighter things. Remember to put the heavy things at the bottom, the lighter items at the top, and don’t overfill those boxes.

Label the boxes and seal across the seams with heavy duty tape. It’s a good idea to include rooms and a short description of the contents to help at the other end.

Dismantling & Assembly Service

Sometimes a door frame or a hallway simply isn’t wide enough for your furniture to fit through and you need to dismantle the item of furniture before moving home. This can be an intimidating task if you don’t know what you are doing and you could also encounter problems if you struggle to do it yourself. You could damage your furniture beyond repair, injure yourself, or even lose important components. Furniture dismantling and assembly service is best delegated to specialists.

Here at Crazy Removals we know a thing or two about removals and we’d love to share our knowledge with you. Here’s how you can dismantle and assemble your own furniture.

1. Does it need to be dismantled?

You don’t have to dismantle everything – only the items that are difficult or impossible to move otherwise. Ask yourself if it will fit through the door.

2. Work out how to do it

Look closely at the item and then work out a plan of action. Consider following the instructions in reverse, or simply work from top to bottom if you get stuck.

3. Use the correct tools

Don’t struggle – use the correct tool for the job. You might need a screwdriver, Allen key, hammer or a wrench.

4. Ask a friend to help

Ask a friend or two to help hold the furniture as you take it apart. Never consider doing it alone as you could get injured or damage the item.

5. Pack carefully

Make sure you don’t lose important screws, nuts and other small items by collecting them together and placing them in a small bag. Tape the bag to the item of furniture itself. That way it’s right there when you need it. Consider using layers of paper to pack shelves and brackets to prevent them from scuffing against each other.

For professional service and peace of mind, hire Hampshire Movers to do the work for you. We are highly experienced, we have insurance, and we love to help.
